Cold Storage Report: Red Meat in Cold Storage down 14%; Beef down 13%

Total red meat supplies in freezers on October 31, 2023 were down slightly from the previous month and down 14 percent from last year.

Total pounds of beef in freezers were up 6 percent from the previous month but down 13 percent from last year.

Frozen pork supplies were down 6 percent from the previous month and down 14 percent from last year.

Stocks of pork bellies were down 6 percent from last month and down 31 percent from last year.

Total frozen poultry supplies were down 6 percent from the previous month but up slightly from a year ago.

Total stocks of chicken were up 3 percent from the previous month but down 4 percent from last year.

Total pounds of turkey in freezers were down 24 percent from last month but up 13 percent from October 31, 2022.
